With so many services now online, we are all familiar with seeing privacy policies pop up annoyingly. When this happens, you likely just click ‘I Agree’ and move on to whatever you were doing. For example, data from Channel 4 from 2017 shows that, out of 74 million visitors, only one in 2,500 or about 0.04% even looked at the privacy notice, let alone read the whole thing. While telling users about how you are going to process and use their information is an essential requirement mandated by data protection law, these notices tend to belong, jargon-filled and difficult to interpret, meaning they are mostly neglected altogether.
