Best coffee makers for your home

Coffee makers saw a surge in popularity during lockdown as people tried to recreate their favourite coffee shop coffee at home. Cappuccino exactly how you like it, mmm!

Given that many of us are still working from home, they may still be on a lot of wish lists this Christmas so first, let’s take a look at what type might suit you.

1. Pod coffee machines

Also known as capsule coffee machines, these can be quick and easy to make without much mess or fuss. They’re also pretty small so they take up less room in your kitchen. The pods keep the coffee fresh so they are great for occasional coffee drinkers.

The downsides are that the choice can be fairly limited and, if you buy a particular type of machine, you are usually then tied to that make of pods. They are also not very sustainable as very few of the pods are recyclable and many are plastic. They can also be expensive when worked out on a cost per cup basis.
